Google Public DNS and Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 only. This compares recursive resolver answers, not every region or authoritative DNS server. DNS is read, never changed. Results show the observation time and any cache reuse. Free fair-use limits apply.

Try an example:

Choose the record you need

A and AAAA point to IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. CNAME is an alias. MX describes incoming mail destinations, TXT holds text such as verification and email policies, and NS names DNS servers. SOA and CAA provide additional DNS administration information.

You can query a hostname such as www.example.com or a DNS name such as _dmarc.example.com. The report includes the returned owner name and any CNAME answers.

Compare answers carefully

Matching answers mean these two resolvers returned the same observed records, ignoring order and TTL differences. Different answers can result from caches, regional responses or load balancing; they are not automatically errors.

An unavailable lookup is not treated as an empty answer. NXDOMAIN means that resolver reports the name does not exist. TTL is returned in seconds and can count down in a recursive cache.

Questions about dns checker

Is this a global DNS propagation checker?

No. It checks two public recursive resolvers. Anycast resolver locations and their cached answers do not provide a worldwide propagation map.

Why are the TTLs different?

Resolvers may have cached the record at different times. Answer comparison therefore ignores TTL differences.

Can I check SPF and DMARC here?

Choose TXT and enter the appropriate name. For an explanation of email authentication records, use the dedicated Email Domain Checker.

Sources and methodology

The report distinguishes observed evidence from unknowns. These checks do not change your website, DNS or existing services.

Use the result, then verify

Use the observation time, checking location and measurement scope to interpret the result. Compare another check when the evidence is incomplete.

Check your email configuration

Review MX, SPF, DMARC and a selector-specific DKIM record with the dedicated email checker.
