Compare the same box and rental term

Choose XS, S, M, L or XL and a 3, 6 or 12-month term. Choose lowest price or nearest distance. Sorting covers all matching priced locations before selecting the top 20; the other measure breaks ties. A monthly equivalent helps you compare the cost, but it is not a monthly payment offer.

A lower rent farther away may cost more once you include travel and pickup time. Start with a practical radius. Not every post office offers every size, and missing quotes are never treated as free rentals.

What the price database covers

This release contains 29,968 observed USPS locations and 326,181 rental quotes collected on October 14, 2026. The federal candidate inventory was fully processed, with 1,497 unmatched or unpriced candidates retained as gaps. It does not certify every currently operating PO Box location.

Prices can change. The results show each quote’s observation date. Use the USPS link to search the location and confirm the current price and available boxes before applying. GeoNames provides the estimated ZIP coordinates under CC BY 4.0.

Questions about po box price finder

How do I find the cheapest PO Box near me?

Enter your five-digit ZIP, radius, box size and rental term. The finder sorts all matching priced locations by price or distance, then returns the top 20. Confirm current prices and availability with USPS.

Can I sort PO Boxes by distance or compare the top 20?

Yes. Select Nearest distance or Lowest price to see the top 20 results. Distance is a straight-line estimate from an estimated ZIP point, not driving distance or distance from your exact address. Sorting happens across all matching priced locations before limiting results.

Which PO Box size should I choose?

The published face dimensions are XS 3 × 5.5 inches, S 5 × 5.5, M 5.5 × 11, L 11 × 11 and XL 12 × 22.5. Choose based on the amount and type of mail you expect, and confirm the local office’s options.

Can I rent a PO Box for three months?

USPS offers three-month terms with automatic renewal. Six and twelve-month options are also included where the public source provides a quote. Confirm the current rental terms with USPS.

Are these live prices and available boxes?

These are recorded rental quotes with observation dates, not a live stock feed. The USPS link is the place to confirm the current price, extra fees, eligibility and available sizes.

Is this the lowest price anywhere in the United States?

No complete live national inventory is certified here. In Lowest price mode, the first result is the lowest recorded comparable price within your chosen radius and filters. Nearest distance mode returns the closest priced locations and can omit cheaper offices farther away. Unknown or unpriced offices can still have options.

Can I use the post office’s street address as my mailing address?

A location’s street address is not your assigned PO Box address. Complete the rental and registration process, then use the address and box number USPS assigns to you.
