Switch tool

HTTP response headers only, up to 10 responses from one checking server. Supports standard HTTP and HTTPS ports. Do not enter private, signed or login URLs. Results show the observation time and any cache reuse. Free fair-use limits apply.

Try an example:

See where a link really leads

Enter the full URL, including http:// when you want to check an HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect. The report shows each requested URL, its response code and the next destination.

Use it after moving a page, changing a domain or updating a campaign link. Check for unnecessary intermediate steps, loops, missing destinations and unexpected hosts.

Understand the stopping point

A completed trace can still end on an error page. Review the final status as well as the destination. A restricted response such as 403 or 429 can apply specifically to an automated checking server.

The tool does not run JavaScript, execute HTML refreshes or send cookies. Private network targets, custom ports and credential-like query parameters are blocked.

Questions about redirect checker

Can I check HTTP to HTTPS redirects?

Yes. Enter the URL beginning with http://. If you omit a scheme, HTTPS is used. Both standard ports are supported.

What is the difference between 301 and 302?

301 indicates a permanent redirect. 302 indicates a temporary redirect. The tool also follows 303, 307 and 308 and lists the actual status returned by the server.

Does this follow JavaScript redirects?

No. It follows HTTP Location headers using GET requests. It does not run a browser, execute JavaScript or follow HTML meta refreshes.

Does a final 200 prove a page is working for everyone?

No. It describes a successful HTTP response from this checking location. Visitors can see different responses due to region, cookies or access rules.

Sources and methodology

The report distinguishes observed evidence from unknowns. These checks do not change your website, DNS or existing services.

Use the result, then verify

Use the observation time, checking location and measurement scope to interpret the result. Compare another check when the evidence is incomplete.
