Switch tool
Registered domains only, such as example.com. RDAP coverage and published fields vary by registry. A missing record does not confirm availability to register. Results show the observation time and any cache reuse. Free fair-use limits apply.
Find the registration details that matter
Look up the registrar, registration date, registry expiry date, nameservers and domain status. Missing fields remain unknown. Personal contact and owner details are not included.
Use the dates to investigate a domain or prepare a renewal check. Confirm billing and renewal deadlines in your registrar account; the registry expiry date can differ.
Read public records with context
The lookup chooses the authoritative registry through IANA’s RDAP bootstrap directory. It uses HTTPS and displays the source and observation time.
Enter the registered domain rather than a subdomain. Some country-code registries do not offer a supported HTTPS RDAP endpoint. A missing record is not an availability or purchase guarantee.
Questions about domain lookup
Is this a WHOIS lookup?
It serves the registration lookup use case using RDAP, the standardized JSON-based registration data protocol. It does not query legacy WHOIS servers.
Can I see who owns a domain?
This tool does not display personal contact information. Registry records often redact owner details. It reports registrar and domain registration metadata where available.
Does no record mean the domain is available?
No. A domain can be reserved, unsupported or absent from an RDAP response. Confirm current availability and price with an accredited registrar.
Why is a field missing?
Registries publish different data. Unknown dates, nameservers or DNSSEC settings remain not reported rather than being guessed.
Sources and methodology
The report distinguishes observed evidence from unknowns. These checks do not change your website, DNS or existing services.
Use the result, then verify
Use the observation time, checking location and measurement scope to interpret the result. Compare another check when the evidence is incomplete.
Check the domain’s DNS
Compare public DNS answers for the records behind your domain.
