Connection timings stop after response headers. They do not measure images, JavaScript, full page load or your device’s internet speed. Full browser audits depend on Google PageSpeed availability. Results show the observation time and any cache reuse. Free fair-use limits apply.
Read the connection timings
DNS finds a public IP address. TCP opens the connection. TLS establishes HTTPS. Time to first byte measures the wait after the request is sent until the first response bytes arrive.
The total covers DNS through response headers for the final URL. Redirect checks run separately. These are observations from one server, not a global average or a website ranking score.
Check browser performance separately
A fast server can still send a slow page. Images, scripts and layout affect the visitor’s experience after the response starts. Open Google PageSpeed Insights for a simulated mobile or desktop browser report.
Where browser audits are available, you can run one here on request. These tests have a separate fair-use cap and cache. A missing score stays unknown.
Questions about website speed test
Does this test my Wi-Fi or download bandwidth?
No. It measures our checking server’s connection to the website. It does not measure your internet service or download speed in Mbps.
Is this a full page-load test?
The immediate result measures DNS and HTTPS response timings. A separate Google Lighthouse browser audit evaluates rendering and page performance.
Why do repeated tests show different speeds?
Network routes, server load, caches and the checking location can vary. The report includes its time and whether a cached result was used.
Sources and methodology
The report distinguishes observed evidence from unknowns. These checks do not change your website, DNS or existing services.
Use the result, then verify
Use the observation time, checking location and measurement scope to interpret the result. Compare another check when the evidence is incomplete.
