Website Technology Checker
See what a website is built with. Inspect public HTML, response headers and linked scripts/stylesheets. See recognizable platforms and services, what each signal means and where it was found.
Free · No sign-up required
Switch tool
One public HTTPS page (up to 512 KB) and up to six same-origin scripts/stylesheets (64 KB each). Code is not executed; hidden backend components remain unknown. Results show the observation time and any cache reuse. Free fair-use limits apply.
Evidence you can inspect
Detections are grouped by category and include the matching signature, its source and an explanation. Direct signatures are distinguished from service references found in linked scripts. The checker recognizes common CMS platforms, site builders, frameworks, analytics and payment scripts.
A missing detection does not mean the technology is absent. The tool reads server HTML and a bounded sample of directly linked same-origin scripts/stylesheets without executing JavaScript. Third-party resource URLs are observed without downloading them. A server header can identify a web server or edge service; it does not identify the entire application backend.
Respect the source website
The checker follows public HTTPS redirects and honors robots.txt for HTML inspection. Private destinations, access challenges and oversized responses stop the inspection. No website settings are changed.
Questions about website technology checker
Can I find out whether a site uses WordPress, Shopify or Next.js?
Yes, when recognizable signatures are present in the public HTML. Every positive result includes the evidence observed.
Does this identify every technology or exact version?
No. Hidden components and unexposed versions remain unknown. Visible headers and signatures can also be customized by the website.
Is the check free?
Yes. No account or extension is required. Shared fair-use limits and caching keep the service available.
Sources and methodology
The report distinguishes observed evidence from unknowns. These checks do not change your website, DNS or existing services.
Use the result, then verify
Use the observation time, checking location and measurement scope to interpret the result. Compare another check when the evidence is incomplete.
